A Pickup Project : a one stop shop
- home design
- project management
- re-purposing of existing space
Dana Pickup doesn’t see spaces as they are, she sees them as they could be. It is Dana’s fundamental belief that all spaces in homes can have a purpose and that virtually anything can be done on a tight budget. With A Pickup Project, Dana's creative approach and deep pool of reasonably priced, expertly skilled trades people get home projects of all scale done with budget and timing in mind.
Make a house a home
APP capitalizes on trusted resources to create homes that honor the history of the structure, that reflect how clients live on a daily basis, and that put to good use a home's every nook and cranny. Dana helps clients figure out what their aesthetic is and how to use what they already have at their disposal to make their space their own. A Pickup Project aims to help people live smartly and proudly in their personalized spaces.
Keeping it simple
APP takes away the overwhelming and stressful nature of doing home projects. Dana does this by scaling her degree of support based on the needs of her clients - from holding a client's hand through the whole process to stepping in for targeted consultations as needed. A Pickup Project makes projects of all scope and size approachable and even enjoyable for homeowners.
Dana does this by, among other things:
- brainstorming initial spatial concepts and layouts
- bringing in architects (if needed) and the right trades people for estimates and selection
- providing recommendations on room use and design
- sourcing finishes and furniture for a space
From a hobby to A Pickup Project
Over the years Dana Pickup's vision has transformed her own homes. From converting a one bedroom 900 square foot pre-war apartment in Brooklyn, NY to accommodate a growing family, to adding charm and warmth to a newly built 5000 square foot home in the country, to gutting, adding on to, and re-configuring a 1950s Cape Cod in the Philadelphia suburbs. Renovating these varied personal spaces has given Dana a depth and breadth of experience reinventing homes of all different scales. Neighbors, family, friends and passers-by saw what Dana was doing and reached out to her for input on their apartments and houses. It was realized that Dana's friendly suggestions and network of resources were helpful to both homeowners and to the builders doing the work. And thus, A Pickup Project came to life.
Dana continues this same "friendly advice" approach with A Pickup Project. She treats each project as if it were her own home - with an attention to detail, time, and budget - all of which are addressed with ease.
